How to save job listings to a spreadsheet
Search the job board, click the NeatCells icon and download Excel: each job becomes a row with title, company, location, salary, experience and when it was posted. Save a recipe to rebuild the same sheet next week in one click.
Why a spreadsheet helps
A sheet lets you compare salaries side by side, filter by location, sort by date, and add your own columns: applied, contact, next step. Job boards rarely let you do any of that.
Step by step
- Search the job board with your keywords and location.
- Click the NeatCells icon. Columns are named from what they hold: Title, Company, Location, Salary ("7 - 26 Lakh/Yr", "$90,000 - $120,000"), Experience ("2-5 Yrs") and Posted ("3 days ago").
- Click Collect next pages to add more results.
- Click Download Excel, or Copy and paste into Google Sheets.
Many job boards also describe each job in hidden structured data for search engines. NeatCells reads it when it is there, which gives clean fields such as the employment type and the date posted.
Keep up with new jobs
Click Save recipe once the table looks right. Next time you open the job board, NeatCells offers "Use recipe" to rebuild it. With NeatCells Pro you can also watch the recipe: every hour, day or week while Chrome is open, it checks the search and tells you about new jobs, marked "New" in the table.
Questions
Can I add my own columns?
Yes: in Excel or Sheets, add columns such as Applied or Notes next to the exported ones. Keep them in your copy of the file.
Can I export job details such as the full description?
With NeatCells Pro, "Details from each item's own page" opens each job's page and adds what it shows.
What about recruiters' names and contact details?
Data about people is protected by privacy laws in many countries. Collect only what you need, keep it to yourself, and follow the job board's terms.
